Cecil and Ron Bridgewater have been working in the New York area for some 40 plus years as musicians and educators.
Their work has brought them to contact with some of the luminaries in the music industry: Horace Silver, Max Roach, Lena Horne, Thad Jones/Mel Lewis, McCoy Tyner, Frank Foster to name a few.
As Educators they have explored their talents at Jazzmoble, The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, Manhattan School of Music, William Paterson University, University Of Illinois as well as spreading the music world-wide thru concerts and seminars in many country's.
Ron's expertise on Reeds and various saxophones made him one of the most sought after sidemen during his time in New York, but he decided to go back to school. He went back home where he finished his education in music and was hired on at the University of Illinois.
Cecil continued on in New York as a freelance trumpet player and educator. Now teaching at: Manhattan School of Music, New School Jazz and Contemporary Music and William Paterson University and recent head of The Jazzmobile Workshops.
